BOAT REVIEW - Regulator 23’ Center Console

One of the greatest parts of my job as editor/publisher of this paper is the ability to experience the best the boating and fishing world has to offer. Okay, you’re probably saying, that’s nice, but what about the 23’ Regulator.

My point exactly, not only is the Regulator 23’ Center Console one of the best center consoles I’ve ever reviewed, it is brought to our market here in the Keys by Mike Myers, of Sandy Cove Marine Sales, one of the best men in the boating business I’ve met. It is no wonder that Regulator, known industry wide as one of the highest quality boat manufactures in today’s market place, chose Mike and his staff at Sandy Cove to sell their boats. Now, back to the boat.

The 23’ Regulator took me back in time a bit. Mind you the beautiful 23’ yellow hauled beauty we sea trailed is very stylish and has all the bells and whistles of today, but it took me back to the days when boat manufactures built boats that you felt were indestructible. That solid feeling, you know the one if you’ve ever been out when the seas demand you hold on tight. Well, the quality of the craftsmanship in this boat doesn’t jump out and grab you, no, it reaches out and slaps you in the face.

This boat, and all the Regulators I’ve been on demand that you see and feel the quality that goes into each boat’s construction. I’m not going to list all the standard equipment, and options. Nope, don’t have the space in this article to do the boat justice.

But, I will tell you this, the boat is rated for twin 200 hp Yamahas. I don’t think you need that much power, I think you can easily get buy with a pair of 150 HPDI’s. Oh yeah, the boat comes from the factory with only Yamaha outboard power, but would you want anything else on a boat of this quality?

Stop by and see Mike, tell him you want to take one out for a spin. After your sea trial, you’ll better understand this review.

All The Best,
Capt. D.
